Allergen Information
Here at Pretzel Pete, we take allergen safety very seriously. Ever since our manufacturing facility opened in 2017, we have maintained very strict protocols to insure that only two allergens (Wheat and Dairy/Milk) have been allowed in our building. We even go to the extent that we forbid any peanut, tree-nut or sesame snacks in our vending machines or in staff break rooms. This insures that full precautions are taken that our products do not contain nor are at risk from contamination from shared equipment and are safe for those customers with allergy concerns. These same protocols apply to the other remaining “Big 9” allergens including soy, egg, shellfish and fish.
Additional steps are taken including the vetting of the allergen food policies of all new/prospective suppliers and that they are aware of our allergen restrictions. One final precautionary step is we conduct periodic swab testing for peanut allergens on our equipment to insure our cleaning protocols are being met and that no allergen traces are somehow finding their way in to our allergen free production areas.
We anticipate that starting in 2025, we will begin production of some products containing peanuts and tree nuts. This production would occur in a segregated area of our building with its own designated production equipment in an isolated manufacturing room separate from our other production. Staff working in this production area will have restrooms, breakrooms and even an entrance/exit to/from the building that are isolated from the rest of our facility.
Thank you for taking the time to understand our approach to allergen safety. We take the safety of all of our customers very seriously and stand ready should you have any further questions regarding our policies.
Sincerely,
Karl Brown
