I am very excited to announce the second winner of the Pretzel Pete Act(s) of Kindness Award! Sam S from Leland, SC has nominated his friend Joann S. of Clearwater, FL. Sam writes “Two years ago my wife was diagnosed with cancer. Joann, a long time family friend and retired radiation oncologist assistant, asked if she could come and help with her care. Joann developed and implemented a 24/7 care plan that was crucial to my wife’s recovery. Joann stayed with us for three weeks. What’s more, right after Joann finally returned to her home in Florida, my wife took another downturn and 48 hours later Joann turned up at our doorstep to settle in for another extended period of in-home care. Joann’s act of kindness was immeasurable to myself and my wife’s recovery.”
