It’s been a busy couple of weeks here at Pretzel Pete! From launching new products to attending trade shows, there is so much to discuss. This past week in particular, I had the pleasure of attending the Summer Fancy Food Show held in New York City at the Javits Center. The show was held on Sunday, June 25th and ended on Tuesday, June 27th.

My name is Liz Nadolski and I am the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communication here at Pretzel Pete. I have been focusing mainly on social media and marketing since I started at Pretzel Pete about six months ago. When I was invited to attend the Summer Fancy Food Show I was beyond excited. I had never attended an event like this and was interested to see how these shows ran.

I rode the train up to New York City bright and early Monday morning and arrived at the Javits Center around 10 am. I was immediately in awe at the amount of vendors that were set up. There were close to 3,000 vendors, maybe even more! I went to the lower floor to find Pretzel Pete’s booth fully set up. We displayed and sampled all of our merchandise, including our new products- the Pretzel Medley and Topzels. Everything was a huge hit- we ended up using 1,000 sample cups that day!

After hanging out in our booth for a bit, I got the chance to explore for the rest of the day. Yes, it did take me all day to visit every booth! The show showcased some of the world’s most amazing culinary innovations. There were lots of unique flavors and textures of products I’ve never experienced before. I was extremely impressed by all of the booths I encountered but I had some favorites from the day.

My favorites included some of the international booths and the different types of cheeses they offered, along with the desserts displayed. One company created cheesecake bites that were filled with protein, perfect for on the go. After exploring the international floor, I came back downstairs and was immediately pulled into the beverage aisles. I was impressed with a lot of the mocktail creations, specifically Mingle Mocktails. I sampled the blueberry hibiscus bellini which was absolutely delicious! These drinks are only 60 calories and aren’t packed with artificial sugar making it the perfect summer mocktail, and a great drink to pair with Pretzel Pete’s pretzels!

Overall I learned so much at the Summer Fancy Food Show. I had the best time trying delicious food and drinks and meeting new people! I am so thankful to have been able to participate and had an amazing experience.
