Millions of families in America live with the specter of serious food allergies hanging over them; of these I find myself most affected by the children suffering from peanut and tree nut allergies. Our family is not immune, we have several family members and close family friends with food allergies.
For these families and children, Halloween is an especially challenging holiday. With huge displays of candy towering in grocery stores, trick-or-treat events, and Halloween parties aplenty, the risks confronting kids with food allergies are immense.
